1 package of red dye
½ c. white vinegar
18 room-temperature eggs
olive oil for glazing
- Dilute the dye powder in vinegar. In a large pot, combine dye mixture and warm water to cover eggs.
- Bring to a boil. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Remove pot from heat and add eggs.
- Return to heat and simmer eggs for 45 minutes. Remove eggs and cool slightly. Rub each egg with an oiled cloth to glaze the surface.
