Mixed Green Salad / Gemischter grüner Salat

1 small head of Bibb lettuce, washed and torn into bite-sized pieces
2 c. fresh spinach, washed and torn into bite-sized pieces
1 green onion, washed and chopped
2 slices of bacon, chopped and fried**
¼ tsp. salt
1
/8 tsp. pepper
2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice for a tangier flavor)
dash of sugar
  1. Place lettuce and spinach in a large bowl. Add remaining ingredients, toss, and serve.
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Serves 6

*Use plain, nonfat yogurt in place of the sour cream for a lighter salad.
**Omit the bacon to make this a vegetarian dish or substitute smoked
turkey meat for the bacon for a low-fat salad.
